Client: City of Belmont

Location: 213 Wright Street, Cloverdale

Project Status: Completed in 2020

Belmont Hub is a modern multi-purpose, cross-generational building with flexible and adaptable spaces. It is a landmark building with a unique architectural style, façade treatment.

The design of the building has at its core the concept of visual transparency inviting the external person to view inside with limited barriers, and internally to view outwards absorbing the landscape of Faulkner Park.

This uniquely curved and angled building sets a new benchmark for libraries, museums and community hubs in WA. The new hub is one of the most environmentally sustainable buildings in the State incorporating new materials and systems in order to achieve the 6 Star Green Star (Public Building) Design and As Built certification.

Belmont Hub is the first project in Western Australian to be certified under the latest version of Green Star rating tool (V1.2), and only the fourth local government project to achieve this rating.

The shape and selected materials act as a counterpoint to the existing administration offices whilst acknowledging the curves of the existing building and creating a usable community space including a new landscaped plaza.
